Oatmeal Raisin Bars


¾ cup brown sugar                    ½ cup sugar

¼ cup margarine                         ¾ cup applesauce

1 egg                                                    3 Tbsp milk

2 tsp vanilla                                      1-1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda                      1 tsp cinnamon          

3 cups oats, uncooked                1 cup raisins


Heat oven to 350. Beat sugars and margarine together. Add applesauce, egg, milk and vanilla. Add combined flour, baking soda, and cinnamon. Mix well. Stir in oats and raisins. Spread dough into an ungreased 13X19 inch baking pan. Bake 25-30 minutes; cut into 24 bars.


Found on Internet… after stores quit carrying the oatmeal-raisin breakfast bars that I liked. These bars are similar, but need more sticky binder to match.  Tried 23 Aug 01… will make again.
